Description: Quietly and steadily, the number of women making six figures or more is increasing and continues to rise at a rate faster than for men. From entrepreneurs to corporate executives, from white-collar professionals to freelancers and part-timers, women are forging careers with considerable financial success.
In Secrets of Six-Figure Women, Barbara Stanny, journalist, motivational speaker, and financial educator, identifies the seven key strategies of female highearners: A Profit Motive, Audacity, Resilience, Encouragement, Self-Awareness, Non-attachment, and Financial Know-How.
Based on extensive research and hundreds of interviews, including more than 150 women whose annual earnings range from $100,000 to $7 million, Barbara Stanny turns each of the six-figure traits into a specific strategy for upping earnings. By rigorously fine-tuning them, readers can, step-by-step, climb the income ladder.

The Author: Barbara Stanny is a Money Expert specializing in financial empowerment for women. She is a world renowned motivational speaker, former journalist, and columnist. Stanny has been a guest of many popular media circuits including: CNBC, CNN, and The Fox News Channel.

Why did you choose this book? I read Prince Charming Isn't Coming and it touched my life, so I decided to see of she could top it and she did! This was more of a Part II, developing on the ideas of the previous book with a lot more how to applications.

How has this book changed your thoughts/actions/beliefs? Primarily it has removed the dishonesty, unaccountability, ignorance, and taboo nature surrounding my relation to money and worth. I am taking a much more proactive role in my financial future, taking full responsibility to educate myself, and making daily decisions that increase my potential and not sabotage it.

What wisdom will you pass along from this book?
A. Save and Invest!..then pay bills and spend the rest ;-) Paying yourself first is not buying the latest entertainment product or item of clothing that will supposedly make you happy, however, that is paying the merchant! At the moment it may feel as such because it was what you think you need to be happy. Pay yourself first, watch your money grow and you can give freely and/or make a career out of your dream job without concern of pay.

B. So many women are not making what they are worth because they don't ask. I know we think people should just know we are doing a great job and should just offer us the promotion or wage increase right? Well they shouldn't and frankly won't! Women make less than men because we don't take the time to realize"self worth=net worth" Most of us don't think we deserve the better pay or promotion, and if we don't believe it then why would anyone else!
